PENDEKATAN MATEMATIKA REALISTIK PADA PEMBELAJARAN PECAHAN DI SMP

Realistic  Mathematics is learning mathematics that take a real-world situation or a context problem as the starting point. The real benda and objects around oue environment can be used as mathematics education context.
We can look fraction number in teaching mathematics through two sides. First, formal side for fraction number in context of curriculum and syllabus. Second, as substantif theory of fraction number itself. In guide of developing KTSP mentioned that teaching mathematics can be start with introduce contextual problem so that little by little students guided to understand mathematics concepts. The aim of teaching fraction number in Junior High School are:
1.       Solving contextual problem and find concept of fraction number from solved contextual problem.
2.       Understand theconcept of fraction number, to explain the relationships among fraction number concept,  and to apply them to solve the problems accurately and efficiently.
3.       To develop thinking skills to learn patterns and characteristics of mathematics, to manipulate them in order to generalize about fraction number
4.       to communicate both concept and uses fraction number
5.       to develop appreciation of the uses of fraction number in daily lifes.
There is four phase in  teaching realistic mathematics, they are introduction, creation/develop symbolic model, reason and explanation, closing/application. This is the example of using realistic mathematics in fraction number concept: teacher can use illustration about fruit like watermelon as medium so that students can costruct and find their own concept to understanding fraction and its form,  proper fraction, improper fraction, mixed  fraction, convertion of fraction, equivalent fraction, simplifying fraction, etc.
Conclution of this activity are:
1.       Students need to get opportunity to reflect alternatife concept about ideas of fraction number that affected next study.
2.       Students need to get opportunity to get knowledge as process of change include addition, creation, modification, rejection, etc
3.       Students need to get opportunity to get new knowledge about fraction that construct from their self
4.       Students need to get opportunity to understand, work, and implement fraction

teachers need to revitalite themself so that:
1.       Obtain their self as a facilitator
2.       Have developing interactive teaching learning capability
3.       able to give opportunity to the students to be active learner
4.       able to develop curriculum and sylabus and employ real life with curriculum.
5.       able to develop teaching scenario:
a.       Interaction schema : clasical, group discussion, and individual activity
b.      Achieve of competence schema: motivation, attitude, knowlegde, skill, and experiences.
