Pembudayaan Matematika di Sekolah Untuk Mencapai Keunggulan Bangsa Oleh Marsigit

Make mathematics as a culture in school have some understanding aspects about the nature of mathematics, nature of school mathematics, nature of mathematics education, nature of mathematics value, etc. Generally, whatever we discuss, it is always related with object and method. Based on the material, mathematic’s object can be a concrete thing likes sketch or cube model, square pool, roof that has form pyramid, pyramid in Egypt, wheel that have form circle, etc. So, in material, mathematics can be pure mathematics, acsiomatis mathematics, formal mathematics. Katagiri state that mathematical thinking consist of 3 aspects, they are mathematic’s attitude, mathematical thinking method,  and mathematics contents. Mathematic’s attitude can be shown by indicator interest to study mathematics, attitude that support to study mathematics, knowledge that sufficient to study mathematics, curiosity, willingness to ask, willingness to get mathematical skill, and mathematics experiences.

1.      Nature of school mathematics and its learning
To make mathematics as a culture in school can be focused in human relationship and appreciation on individual differences. Civilize mathematics learning implicated to teacher function as good facilitator so that students could optimal in learning mathematics. Teacher have 3 main function: as a facilitator, as reference, and monitoring students activity.
2.      Hermeneutics civilizing mathematics
Basic elements of civilizing mathematics is activity to communicate mathematics in some dimention. Dimentions of communication determine by characteristic of subject or object.

Based on activity that have been done in mathematics PLPG, workshop, seminar, we got that inovation in teaching mathematics must answer the following challenge:
a.       How to promote teaching learning mathematics that oriented to process
b.      How to develop cooperative learning in teaching learning mathematics
c.       How to form group discussion in teaching learning mathematics
d.      How to develop learning mathemtaics through gamez
e.      Develop variation of mathematics learning method
f.        Use concrete thing in teaching learning mathematics
g.       Contextual learning
h.      Encourage students initiative and student’s role
i.         Develop variation of references
j.        Develop ralistic mathematics education
k.       Variation of interaction and communication in teaching learning mathematics
l.         Concepts of education si for all
m.    Encourage student’s creativity
n.      Revitalize  nature of school mathematics
o.      Nature of students learn mathematics
p.      Promote student center learning
q.      Develop student worksheet
